Jordanian delights
It’s somewhat ironic that a country that is home to over 100,000 archaeological sites should really only be known in most of the world for one. But, given the spectacular nature of the Facade of the treasury at Petra, it’s not hard to see why it has stolen all the limelight.
But Jordan has far more going on beneath its beautiful facades. It is home to one of the most ancient settlements in human civilisation, with evidence suggesting that there were human habitations going back to 13th century BC. And the original Philadelphia (presumably minus the cheese steak sandwich) is actually Amman, the capital of Jordan as that’s what its name used to be. Jordan’s Wadi Rum spectacular desert landscape is recognisable to many around the world as the setting for Lawrence of Arabia and Rogue One: A Star Wars story. For many it’s the chance to view the Milky Way and to enjoy the still of the desert in an incomparable location.
A trip with Diamond Skies means including the above, but also delving deeper below that facade. Spending time with the locals, eating the delicious spiced food and creating life-long memories through the unique experiences we offer.
